THEIR WORDS – OUR WORK
On May 7, 2025, Aude Mazelin spoke at the ESO Conference at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall, sharing our studio’s twenty-year journey with the Greek architecture community. Under this year’s theme “Embracing Chaos in a Smart World,” Aude’s presentation – Still Human - traced how human relationships have fundamentally shaped our practice, from our birth in Mykonos to our current evolution toward ECHORA global philosophy. Rather than showcasing technical achievements, her talk celebrated the people, places, and authentic connections that have guided our growth at every level. The presentation reflected our ongoing “Their words – Our work” campaign, demonstrating how we let clients and collaborators tell the real story of architecture that serves human experience. The warm response from the public reinforced our belief that meaningful design emerges from deep listening and genuine collaboration with both people and place.
We first met Steven and Larry twelve years ago. Our journey together includes two projects in Mykonos and one in Amorgos island. What are the stories behind the restoration of a century-old Cycladic farmhouse, a hybrid Mykonian "urban" manor, and a home conceived as a sacred space for reflection? The initial house, situated between an olive grove, forms part of an exclusive development consisting of four distinct plots. This thoughtfully designed complex will not only offer residential spaces but will also incorporate a purpose-built facility for a yoga retreat. The integration of the retreat within the natural landscape aims to create a harmonious environment, blending tranquility with wellness. The entire project is envisioned to provide a holistic experience, promoting well-being through its architecture and natural landscape.

Blending seamlessly with the natural landscape and rugged mountains of Amorgos, “THE EYE” reflects all the traditional characteristics of the island. Inspired also by the impressive Chozoviotissa Monastery, it incorporates various materials, skylights, and mysterious large corridors, creating a captivating experience for the visitor.
